It is very likely that you have already tried the world of self-publishing and you have been promised “all kinds of good things”: Many new authors tell us: “x” publishing house gives us 30% or even 40% of the RRP. Of course! because they are your books<\/strong>, the books that self-published authors have previously paid for. In other words, when you self-publish, you finance 100% of the printing of the books that the children’s or young adult publisher puts into distribution (if it does). Don’t forget that they are your books: it is logical that, if they sell, you will receive a high percentage of the sales, and the self-publishing publisher will keep a small percentage for management expenses.
